Why Chronically Hacked?
Western medicine is designed to solve problems. A broken arm? Here’s a cast. Problem solved. Done. Bravo. Gold star. But when you put ongoing symptoms in front of it such as chronic headaches, digestive issues, or cognitive dysfunctions, it reaches for the “quick fix.” It treats the symptoms but neglects to look at the body as a whole and investigate the root cause. This haphazard way of healing may work in the short term but it starts to get messy as time goes on. Many times, the symptoms come back stronger than before, and patients don’t know what to do other than to keep putting bandaids over their bullet wounds.
This is a common story of the chronically ill and is our story as well. For years, we went undiagnosed, then misdiagnosed until we were both diagnosed with Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, mold exposure and mycotoxins, Candida overgrowth, and parasite overgrowth (July 2020 for Micaela and May 2021 for Dianna). Let’s just say we’re not raking in the big bucks, so we didn’t have unlimited funds to invest in expensive treatments that may or may not work. We got creative. We maneuvered our way through the system. We figured out what supplements worked for us and what was superfluous. We discovered ways to get the most out of our doctors’ visits. We found resources where we could do our own research and finessed our way through the mess. Experience is the best teacher and by sharing ours, we hope to help you or someone you love gain clarity with your or their health.
We call our course “Chronically Hacked” because, at this time, chronic illnesses can’t be 100% eradicated—only put into remission—so we’re chronically hacking our way to health. Our bodies constantly throw us curve balls, so we’re continually experimenting with ways to respond and steer our bodies back on track. It’s a rollercoaster of a ride, but once you learn to tune into your body (which you’ll learn how to in our course!), you learn and further understand the rhythm of responding to your body's cues.
Chronically Yours,
Micaela & Dianna
